Reservations and Play Time
Step 1: Reserve Your Bay
Choose your perfect time slot – book online or via our app, select the number of guests, and pick from a variety of game modes (closest-to-the-pin, long drive, course play of famous holes, and more).

The Flight Before Christmas is going on until January 1. There are some FAQs below to answer questions, but the best way to find out about it is to check out our Calendar of Events.
Step 2: Show Up & Get Set
When you arrive, we’ll check you in and direct you to your bay. Your lounge-style bay includes:
- Comfortable seating behind the hitting area
- Toptracer tracking on every shot — just swing and see your real-time ball flight, carry distance, and score right on the screen
- Food & drink service delivered to your bay (because yes, pizza and cocktails absolutely belong with golf)
- Various skill-levels welcome — you can join a formal format or simply play for laughs and fun.
Step 3: Play, Track & Compete
Once you’re swinging, here’s how it works:
- Choose a game mode transformed by Toptracer. Try “Legendary Courses” where you play virtual versions of 15+ world-class holes, or test your carry in “Long Drive Challenge”.
- Your shots are tracked, scored, and stored. You’ll see your metrics instantly and can track improvement over time.
- Want a little competitive edge? Join a monthly leaderboard, sign up for our leagues, or host your own group challenge with friends or co-workers.
- Enjoy the Lounge: Grab appetizers, pizzas, signature drinks, cheer on your team or watch other bays via our live feed.
- End of your session? Your stats are available in the app — review your performance, share your round, plan your next trip.
Step 4: Make It Your Regular Play
We offer a membership-style option called the Flight Club that gives you unlimited access plus member benefits (discounts, priority booking, etc.). It’s built for folks who want to turn “one fun night” into “regular competitive fun”.

What is the Flight Before Christmas?
What is the Flight Before Christmas promotion?
Flight Before Christmas is our annual holiday experience at Flight Zone. We transform the bays with festive décor, themed games, holiday music, and seasonal food & drink specials. It’s designed for families, friends, coworkers, and anyone looking to celebrate with something more fun than a traditional party.
Do I need a special reservation for the Flight Before Christmas?
Yes, we recommend booking ahead. When you reserve online, select a Flight Before Christmas bay time to ensure your group gets the holiday theme, decorations, and seasonal add-ons.
How long is the Flight Before Christmas available?
The holiday experience runs from December 1 through December 30. Reservations fill fast, especially on weekends, so booking early is encouraged.
Is there an extra cost for the holiday experience?
Some nights include complimentary holiday fun; others offer optional add-on packages such as festive drink specials, hot cocoa flights, holiday photo ops, or bay upgrades. Check out our Calendar for a full listing.

Yes! Holiday gift exchanges, Secret Santa, and white elephant events are welcome in your bay. Just make sure items fit comfortably in the lounging area.
Can we host a company holiday party or group outing during Flight Before Christmas?
Absolutely. Flight Before Christmas is one of our most popular corporate event options. We offer group packages, catering upgrades, and private bays for parties of all sizes. Contact our events team for custom quotes.
What should we wear?
Wear anything festive! Ugly sweaters, Santa hats, reindeer onesies — go for it. Just make sure you can still comfortably swing a club.
Do I need to be a good golfer to enjoy Flight Zone?
Not at all! In fact, you don’t need to be a golfer at all! Flight Zone is designed for all skill levels — from first-time swingers to seasoned golfers. Our game modes make it fun whether you’re practicing, competing, or just hanging out.
If you don’t want to play golf, it’s a comfortable space for you just to sit and watch the action and enjoy some of our delicious pizza.
How many people can play in one bay?
Each bay can comfortably hold up to 8 players. You can rotate swings, split into teams, or just chill in the lounge area while others hit. Most of our games are 8 person games with the exception of virtual golf which only allows 4. If you have additional people. they can still hang out and watch in the bay. There is room for 12 people in each bay.
Our “bigger bays” that include large sectional couches are Bay numbers 2,3 and 8,9.
Do I need to bring my own golf clubs?
You’re welcome to bring your own clubs, but we also have high-quality clubs for men, women, and juniors which rents for $10 per set.
How does Toptracer work?
Toptracer uses advanced camera and radar technology to track every shot in real time. It displays your ball flight, distance, speed, and accuracy on a monitor in your bay, and saves your stats in the app.
Can I book ahead of time?
Yes — and we recommend it! Our reservations are available up to 21 days in advance. You can reserve your bay online through our booking system. Walk-ins are welcome when bays are available, but they fill up fast during evenings and weekends. We also provide an online booking discount.
What kinds of games can we play?
From virtual course play to Long Drive, Closest-to-the-Pin, and fun family games, there’s something for everyone. We have Angry Birds, Go Fish and more. You can choose from multiple modes right from your bay — skill-building or silly, competitive or casual.
Is food and drink service available at the bays?
Yes — we offer full bay-side service. Order appetizers, pizza, soft drinks, cocktails, beer, and more without missing a swing. If you want a sneak peak, here’s a look at our menu.
Are the bays heated or climate-controlled?
Yes! Our bays are climate-controlled so you can play year-round — rain, wind, snow, or shine. (Perfect for those winter “Flight Before Christmas” outings!)
Keep in mind, that you are still hitting your ball outside, so dress appropriately for the weather outside. Guests who aren’t golfing might want to bring a small lap blanket on colder nights.
Can I host a party, corporate outing, or holiday event here?
Absolutely. We specialize in group events of all sizes — birthdays, company parties, team-building, bachelor/ette events, and holiday gatherings. Our team will help plan every detail. Find out more here.
How do leagues and memberships work?
We offer seasonal leagues for all skill levels and a Flight Club membership that gives unlimited play plus exclusive discounts. Perfect if you plan to visit often or want to compete regularly.
What time should we arrive for our reservation?
We recommend arriving 10 minutes early so you can check in, get your bay assignment, and get settled before your session begins. Important to remember that your Bay Time begins at the time of your reservation, not when you arrive. If you are 15 minutes late, then you are losing 15 minutes of bay time experience.
What should I wear to play?
Wear whatever you’re comfortable swinging in — athletic wear, jeans, or casual clothes all work. Closed-toe shoes are recommended but not required. Dress according to the weather outside. When you hit your ball, you are outside.
Can kids play at Flight Zone?
Yes! Flight Zone is family-friendly. Children are welcome as long as they are supervised by an adult. We also provide junior clubs.
What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
Plans change — we get it. You can cancel or reschedule your reservation up to 24 hours in advance. We require a credit card to hold the reservation, but only charge it when you no-show a reservation. All other payment is done at the end of your bay time experience.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes! Gift cards can be used for bay time, food, drinks, leagues, and even memberships. They’re one of our most popular options during the holidays.
How long is a typical reservation?
Most reservations are one hour, but you can book longer sessions based on availability. Many groups choose 90–120 minutes for a more relaxed experience. Most guests find that 90 minutes is the sweet spot for reservation experience.
Can I bring my own food or drinks?
Outside food and beverage is not permitted, but we offer a full menu with appetizers, pizzas, snacks, soft drinks, dirty sodas, beer, wine, and cocktails. Here’s a look at our menu.
What happens if the weather is bad?
No worries — our bays are fully covered and climate-controlled, so you can play in rain, snow, wind, or heat. Weather rarely impacts bay availability. Maybe not in a blizzard or derecho, but we’re Iowans. We can handle it!
Can we come just to eat and hang out without playing?
Yes! Visitors are welcome to enjoy food, drinks, and the atmosphere without booking a bay. Seating availability may vary during busy hours. We do have a very large outdoor eating areas that’s perfect for the family meal after golf.
Do you offer lessons or coaching?
Yes — we offer private lessons and group clinics with PGA Professionals. Whether you’re a beginner or sharpening your game, we have a coaching option for you.
Can people who aren’t playing sit in the bay?
Absolutely. Each bay has lounge seating, and non-players are welcome to relax, cheer, grab a drink, and enjoy the atmosphere.
Do the bays have TVs or music?
Yes! Each bay has screens with Toptracer games plus TVs throughout the facility. We keep a fun music playlist running to keep the atmosphere energetic and social.
Can I extend my playtime if we’re having fun?
Most of the time, yes! If the next slot is open, you can extend your session right from your bay or by checking with a team member.
